The Crescent Moon of the Month of Thul-Hijjah 1435 AH

To all of the believers in North America,
As-Salamu Alaykum (Peace be upon you)

The Crescent Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America announces that Friday, the 26th of September 2014, will be the first day of Thul-Hijjah 1435 A.H. for the United States and the southern regions of Canada. This determination is based on the fact that there were reported sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye during the sunset of Thursday, the 25th of September (29th of Thul-Qi’dah) from many locations.

We ask Allah Almighty for success in performing good deeds and the hastening of our master Imam al-Mahdi (a.s.)
