To the respected members of our beloved community
We first would like to ask Allah (swt) to continue to bestow His blessings and mercy on the Muslim communities and accept their obedience and worship in this holy month.
It has come to our attention that certain rumors have begun to spread regarding certain internal matters involving an employee of IMAM. In order to safeguard our community and protect it from false gossip, we would like to issue a clarification for the betterment of all.
As part of our effort to bring our organization up to standard due to the perhaps unintentional negligence of some of its previous management members, we have been occupied with reviewing its different operational components in order to remain in compliance with applicable laws and regulations relating to our 501(c)(3) standing. In so doing we came across HR related issues that needed to be addressed. In one instance, an employee with a particular employment case had an incomplete employee file that needed to be rectified. Based on the Executive Committee's decision, the employee was contacted and asked to meet with the CEO, COO, and HR Department Head in order to understand his employee file and provide the missing documents to assure its completeness. The meeting ended with a better understanding of the employee's file and an agreement that the employee will provide the missing documents to complete his file. Unfortunately, two business days later, IMAM received a correspondence from the employee stating his decision to resign. This came as a surprise to us especially because the employee stated in the meeting that he was eager to complete his file and continue providing his services to IMAM. To be clear, IMAM, as a religious organization that provides services to its community, has no intention to take any negative action against one of its employees, or anyone else for that matter, and was looking forward to continuing the positive relationship.
We would like to make the community aware, that the CEO, COO, and the HR Department head have not discussed any details of the meeting with anyone outside of the organization. We are surprised and taken aback by accusations of mistreatment towards the employee that have been flung by individuals who are not involved with the administrative functions of IMAM or this case. Yet these individuals speak as if they are aware of the entire situation without ever once speaking to any of the Executive Committee members of IMAM who were involved in this circumstance. A question arises here regarding what type of information is being spread by this employee, and what type of compliance the employee has been following in regards to the legally binding non-disclosure agreement that has been signed, that causes such allegations to be falsely assumed.
We advise our beloved members of the community to uphold their high moral character and refuse to jump to any conclusions without understanding the series of events from all sides. We also remind our beloved community to avoid risking their good deeds and worship during this holy month of Ramadan by partaking in unfounded rumors. Rest assured that members of IMAM from employees to volunteers will never break the covenant of trust with Imam al-Mahdi (aj) and will only work to spread positive attributes to the Muslim community in North America.
May Allah protect our community and IMAM from any disorder and dissidence. Please do not forget us in your dua to continue our service to our beloved community.
